Jabez Fisher, born on Buck's Hill near Sheldonville in 1717, was a deacon, precinct clerk, notary public, and legislator. His work can be traced throughout the Revolutionary period. In fact, on January 11, 1773, Fisher was one of the signers of a resolve that stated displeasure with the conduct of the King of England.
